Brief Question & Answer with Nate
CD or Vinyl (Makes no difference)
What names have you've played supporting sets for?
Baby Doc & SJ, The Space DJ'z and DJ Dr. Motte at the Time Tunnel Rave, Warm ups for Bombfunk MC's, Alex K, KCB, Paul Holden, PeeWee Ferris and Bexta on individual nights, and most recently alongside Miss Tracy weekly, in my residency.
What else have you done to further your DJ Profile?
My first break was actually straight in to a commercial club residency, to which I added 2 years of mobile DJing and managed to land my own 2 hour radio show, focussed around Acid Jazz & Drum 'n' Bass, on a local community radio station.
Everything to do with these 3 areas is completely different to the specifics I utilise now, but the knowlege gained from having done these put me a leap above my competition breaking in to the Brisbane/Valley scene. They're also the key elements that got me offerred the sound engineer's contract with Club Med.
With Club Med I was initially responsible for all the sound around the Island Resort, which included nightly stage show productions, various daily events, In House Television channel and all the audio/visual for Corporate Conferences. I was soon later made responsible for running and maintaining the Night Club on the Island as well.
What are your DJ Career Ambitions?
I've been too comfortable in the Valley for a little too long now and believe the opportunities to advance my profile are going to come from interstate and international gigs. I'll always be loyal and available to the Beat, but would love to branch out on occasion and really explore what I can do with a venue full of people.
What are your other interests?
I've never been known for living the DJ lifestyle, as I've always held down a weekday job, the last few holding quite some responsibility. I can't get in to detail what I'm doing now, but it's quite rewarding and has opened up avenues for me to put time, effort and money back in to my performances.
